This is an acrylic and PVA glue painting on brown card..after living in ulverstone for a winter the woodsmoke kills the locals.the schoolkids come to class coughing.the schoolyard fills up with woodsmoke..my neighbour burns plastic and all other crap..I asked him if I could take the plastic he had in his fire before he lit it..the next day he burnt it producing toxic fumes...on a friday night they all gathered over another fire coughing horrendously and called me a d...head.after i asked them what are they burning.then another night the fire looked unattended 79cm from my fence with blue and green plumes of smoke and fire.so I hosed it..father and son popped out of the dark and said what are you doing..I said sorry I thought no one was there..a poor discussion of denial by them about correct usage of fires and smoke and EPA rules ensued..in front of his son the father told me he ought to go get a gun and shoot me and that he would burn my house down..across the road they burn foul trade materials into neighbours homes.and mine..the other neighbour does not close their chimney properly and drowns my house out with stench wet woods..they sit and smoke cigarettes coughing like dead people at the side and it smells like an ashtray in my driveway..the school sprays pesticide on the ground across from my house like a DDT vietnam roundup cancer fun day...this painting reflects my medieval brueghel and bosch type of backward failed cultureless community I live in.in regard to the poor laisre fare attitude and cultural cop out of pollution that is a tradition so it must be ok...if I could record particulate levels and provide it to the EPA the state government would be shaking in their boots over class action lawsuits on their failure to address the health concerns that most probably fill our underfunded hospitals with uneccesary ills and terminal health concerns....david hearne.'ulverstone woodfire burnoffs' acrylic and pva on brown card stock 850mmx 597mm 2016 ($1200)David Hearne watercolour study of nick cave after arkley
